Herland is an all-volunteer organization funded by support from our community, along with occasional grants, special fundraising events and projects, and in-kind contributions of labor, equipment and supplies.
We have ongoing operating expenses for our building including but not limited to: electric, phone, water and sanitation services, maintainence and repairs and other upkeep.
One of our biggest regular expenses is the Herland Voice newsletter. It costs over $300 a month to publish and distribute the Voice. While we send the newsletter to anyone who requests it regardless of ability to pay, we request a $12 annual donation from those who can afford it.
Contributions for the newsletter or towards general operating expenses, as well as to the Legal Defense Fund, are encouraged and greatly appreciated. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
