glbt history month

glbthistory.gifFor this year’s GLBT History Month, the Equality Forum is focusing on glbt “icons” such as Leonard Bernstein, Lily Tomlin, Gore Vidal, and Florence Nightingale (who knew?!?).  The glbtHistoryMonth.com website has lots of educational material and features a new video and biography of one glbt person each day for the 31 days of October.  To check it out visit glbthistorymonth.com.

performers wanted for winter coffeehouse series

Herland is planning a Once-a-Month Winter Coffeehouse Series for November through January and we are looking for musicians, poets, writers, comedians, or other performers to donate their talents for these events.  If you’ve always wanted to try out your work on an appreciative audience, this is your chance.  The dates are: November 17, December 15, and January 19, all Saturdays.  If you would like to sing, play, read poetry or a short story, or do a stand-up routine, call Ginger at 942-1535.  We will work out the schedule depending on your preferred date.
