angie johnson, faa globe, receives national award
Congratulations to Angie Johnson of Oklahoma City who was selected to receive the FAA Administrator’s National Award for Excellence in Equal Employment Opportunity for her work in FAA GLOBE (Gay, Lesbian, Or Bisexual Employees). She will receive the award in Washington, DC, from Marion Blakey the Administrator of the FAA.
Herland got to know Angie and the OKC GLOBE group when they collected donations and asked Herland to help them locate a local and needy elderly lesbian to present with a very nice gift card for the holidays.
Angie is also being awarded the Oklahoma Federal Executive Board Federal Employee Award for Outstanding Diversity Contribution. She will be given this award on May 7 at a banquet at the Clarion Meridian.
This award recognizes demonstrated exemplary accomplishments in providing equal employment opportunities for non-supervisory employees (Employees, Teams, Groups or Associations of Employees). Some examples are efforts to eradicate discrimination, harassment, and other barriers to fair and equitable treatment in the workplace.
Congratulations, Angie! Job well done.
