scholarship opportunity for local female art/design students
The Girlie Show, an Oklahoma-owned and operated art show featuring all female artists and designers and now in its fourth year, recently announced its first-ever Girlie Show Scholarship. $1000 will be awarded to one candidate this June, upon entry of application and interview of the finalists by The Girlie Show committee.
To qualify, entrant must be a resident of Oklahoma, at least 18 years of age (but after that, there is no limit on age!), female, enrolled at an Oklahoma college or university with a cumulative GPA of 3.0, and be pursuing a degree in one of the following: media arts (photo, film, video), studio arts (sculpture, printmaking, painting, drawing), fashion design, fashion merchandising or commercial art.
Applications may be downloaded from The Girlie Show website, at http://www.thegirlieshow.net/. All entries must be submitted by April 30, 2007. Upon review of all applications, The Girlie Show committee will select five finalists, each of whom will be scheduled for an interview with the Committee. After each finalist has been interviewed, the final winner will be selected and notified by May 31, 2007.
