This seminar was developed from the perspective of a survivor of an assault.  You will be taught self-defense techniques, intuitive accuracy, survival signals, response development through roleplaying, how to design a personal protection plan, and how to provide child-safe environments.

This womyn-only training is sponsored and will be held at Church of the Open Arms, 3131 N. Penn, on Saturday, Oct 7, from 10am-noon.  Cost is $20 for women and $10 for girls age 12-19.

Meet at Herland on Saturday, October 7, at 7:15 pm to go as a group to the Oklahoma City Theatre Company’s production of Always, Patsy Cline.  A heartfelt and moving tribute to the Queen of country music, Always, Patsy Cline follows the meteoric rise of a small town girl to the heights of fame and chronicles the relationship between her and a pen pal in Texas.

Louise Goldberg is the music director, and Mary Reynolds plays the bass in the cowboy band!  Big fun!  Show starts at 8:00 pm and tickets are $20.

Meet up with us on Saturday, October 7, at 9 am at the Oklahoma River North Trails for our Herland Bike Ride.  Park at the lot on the north side of the River between Robinson and Walker, at approximately SW 15th St.  Ther are potable restrooms facilities there.

We will ride west on the north trail and to Portland then turn around and ride east all the way to Bricktown.  (You can shorten the ride if you are tired by stopping when we pass by our parking lot.)  If folks would like, we can stop for a bite to eat at IHOP and the return to where we parked.  The total length of the ride willbe 12 miles.  For more information, call Ginger at 942-1535.

Join Herland this month on Saturday, October 14, at 5:30 pm for supper club at Cimarron Steak House, 201 N. Meridian.  After dinner, about 7 pm, we will head over to 66 Bowl, 3810 NW 39th, for a few challenging games of 10 pin.
