Herland Celebrates Black History Month
Movie Night: 7 pm, Wednesday, February 18th
Join Herland as we celebrate Black History Month with a special showing of Brother Outsider: The Life and Times of Bayard Rustin.
This is a gripping documentary about a brilliant gay, lifetime activist for social justice. Shown nationally on PBS’s Point of View series, it is the story of one of America?s great organizers for nonviolent social change. Rustin is credited with being a mentor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the central organizer of the 1963 March on Washington.
